Breaking News Tesla Germany

Brandenburg Has Finally Agreed To Sell The Land To Tesla

This is another great news for the Tesla community. Tesla boss “Elon Musk” wants to build a factory in Brandenburg but if no purchase agreement was met today, there may never be Gigafactory 4 Berlin. The committee has finally approved the purchase agreement for the 300 hectare property. But there is still a lot to do, said Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke on Friday. The Committee on Budgets still has to agree.

According to the Prime Minister, both sides now have the opportunity to review the draft contract. In addition, the contract is still subject to approval by Tesla board. Confidentiality has been agreed on the specific content of the contract. The relevant template would then be sent to the state budget and finance committee. The latter had to give its consent to the sale of the approximately 300 hectare property before the Land can finally be handed over to Tesla.

Brandenburg and the US electric car manufacturer Tesla have agreed to sell the property for the planned electric car factory near Grünheide (Oder-Spree). As the State Chancellery announced on Friday, the purchase contract for the future factory has been sorted out today.

Application documents from Tesla are also available

The Brandenburg Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke (SPD) was pleased that “the first two important steps have been taken”. He was pleased that “the agreements made on Tuesday in the task force could be kept by all parties involved”. He was confident about the way ahead. “But there is still a lot to do,” said Woidke.

Environment Minister Vogel agreed to process the Tesla documents quickly. These would have a volume of five files. After the documents have been checked, the construction project is announced in the official gazette, in the local newspapers and on the Internet. Public participation also begins with “interpretation of the documents”. “This is an ambitious, ambitious plan,” said the Greens politician. “We are doing everything we can to move the process forward quickly, taking legal requirements into account.”

The procedure according to the Federal Immission Control Act (BImschG) runs – as usual with such applications – with a “concentrating effect”, according to the press release published on Friday afternoon by the State Chancellery. As a result, the environmental law requirements (e.g. pollution control, nature conservation, water law, building law) are brought together at one authority. The State Office for the Environment as the upper water authority will coordinate with the district of Oder-Spree on the water law permits, it said.

According to the information, the purchase contract had been negotiated on Friday night. On Friday morning, the State Office for the Environment (LfU) also received Tesla’s application documents for the approval process under the Federal Immission Control Act.

Brandenburg’s Finance Minister Katrin Lange (SPD), Economics Minister Jörg Steinbach (SPD) and Environment Minister Axel Vogel (Bündnis90 / Die Grünen) were reportedly involved in the final contract negotiations. They were supported by experts from the Brandenburg Economic Development Agency in Brandenburg and several lawyers.
